1. Why should I go to the dentist regularly?
Visiting the dentist regularly will not only help to keep your teeth and mouth healthy but will also help to keep the rest of your body healthy.
Dental care is important because:
It helps to prevent tooth decay.
It protects against periodontal (gum) disease which could lead to teeth and bone loss.

2. What is dental cleaning and how frequently it has to be done?
Dental cleaning is the procedure which is called scaling in which calcified deposits and stains which build upon the teeth’s surface is removed.
Scaling is advised once a year.
SCALING DOES NOT LEAD TO ANY TEETH LOSS.

3. What type of brush should one use and how long to brush my teeth?
Use a toothbrush with soft bristles.
Duration of brushing should be 2 to 4 minutes, twice a day.
The toothbrush should be changed once every 3 months.

4. Do I need flossing?
Flossing reduces the bacteria present in between teeth where toothbrush bristles cannot reach.
Ask your dentist to show you the proper way to floss.

5. How long will my tooth / teeth filling last?
One cannot expect tooth/teeth filling to last forever but one can take care of them to increase its life, by maintaining good oral hygiene and visiting the dentist regularly.
